I love this place!!!! If you're on any type of diet under the sun, this store will have a million and one options for you. From their hot food bar, to their prepackaged foods, it's the best health food store I've ever been to. Their groceries are also amazing. Be warned, once you enter, you may never leave!!!! Update: they have indeed reconsidered their larger cuts policy, at least the pork belly, which you can now buy whole or have them cut in half if you prefer. The belly they showed me was twice the price of the one I'd already purchased at Rolf's for my porchetta, but also had considerably more meat vs fat.
HL continues to be a four- rather than five-star experience due to frequent gaps in selection or out of stock items. But they do respond to customer service inquiries so if you want something and don't see it, speak up! -

We have been going to Healthy Living in Burlington, VT for years, so I was excited to hear that one was opening up in Saratoga Springs. This place is the best health food store I have ever visited, and I like it more than Fresh Market and Whole Foods - plus it isn't a chain (just two locations).
The only downside to Healthy Living is that a lot of products here are expensive. However, considering most of those are ones you won't easily find elsewhere, the benefits outweigh the costs.
I feel like a kid in a candy shop here. Some of my favorites are: kombucha on tap, peanut-free snacks for the kids, vegetarian foods / mock meats, yummy veggies like celeriac.
The store also has things like a sushi counter, bakery, salad bar, and a prepared foods section. You can find plenty of prepared foods to go, which is what we did last time (planned to get takeout). When they first came to the area, my daughter ordered a sandwich with sprouts and mayo, which may have raised an eyebrow, but she was happy as a clam. You can eat inside (there are a few tables in the store or in the mall) or outside.
The store is beautiful in general. Give yourself plenty of time to explore, and be prepared to spend a lot too! -

Decent prices and 99% of the time they have hard to find things I need or they can order them. The staff is super helpful and friendly (most of them, there's a couple exceptions). It's my favorite place to grocery shop. Join their core shopper club. Great deals!

Confession. I go there for the bakery items. The cupcakes, the chocolate pot de creme and other assorted baked goods are delectable.
I was hoping to find a few specialty items , specifically Meredith Dairy Sheep & Goat milk marinated Feta cheese, but no such luck.
They do have some good selections in their bulk spice bins but the bakery is carrying this review.
